We’re not the "Red States of America" or the "Blue States of America;" we are the "United States of America."
Now check out this excerpt from Barak Obama's acceptance speech Tuesday night:
We have never been a collection of red states and blue states: we are, and always will be, the United States of America.
I guess we know where Obama's getting his material.

Actually, you could say this blog listens to Obama. I believe he used that phrase during either the primary season or his acceptance speech at the Democratic Convention!
Hmmmm .... perhaps Ian is right. Could it be that an earlier Obama speech left these words subliminally implanted in my head? Maybe more research is needed on this subject ...
I saw Andy is moonlighting as a speech writer and doesn't want to tell anyone. :)
Actually, Andy, I think Obama first used that phrase four years ago at the Democratic convention. It's good to know you've been writing for him that long.
